August 17, 2006 (issue date) – “Methicillin-Resistant S. aureus Infections among Patients in the Emergency Department” Research paper in the New England Journal of Medicine by the EMERGEncy ID Net Study Group. Community-acquired MRSA (drug-resistant “Staph”) now appears in more than half of all ER cases of skin and soft-tissue infection.
